Finding Your Spot

We bought a lot of plants this year, one or two of each kind we wanted. We are experimenting with what does well in our yard.  We have plants that love sun, some  love shade and others that like a bit of both.

We placed plants where we thought they would do well.  Now we are moving some of them around to see if they’ll do better in another location.  We’ve discovered some like to be in pots, others do better in the ground.  Some want more sun, some less.

We’re like plants in some ways.  Our needs change as the days go by.  We may plant ourselves in one spot, only to discover that we need to change our environment in order to truly thrive.  While transplanting ourselves takes some effort, it needs to be done.  Adapting to a new spot can be challenging, but worth it when we are more comfortable, happier, content.

When the conditions are right for us, we thrive.

On Facebook, I talk about nature, poetry, and the life of a writer.
I’d love for you to follow me there!

Lynn H. Wyvill grew up in Washington DC where her favorite activity was sitting under a Japanese red maple tree, watching clouds create pictures in the sky. As a writer, she finds peace and inspiration when hiking in the woods, strolling on sandy beaches, and observing nature’s show in her backyard. Those experiences are captured in her first book, Nature’s Quiet Wisdom. Before writing books, Lynn worked as a radio/TV reporter and writer for the US Department of Agriculture and owned a consulting business that trained professionals on the creation and delivery of effective presentations. She is a lifelong learner, avid reader, small town explorer, and dedicated theater attendee who lives in beautiful Virginia with her husband.
