Proof

Finally, the proof copy!

Not quite awake, I opened the front door a few days ago to check the weather and there it was - a padded envelope. I knew what it had to be.

I picked it up, carried it to my desk and carefully opened it.

Finally! A proof copy of my new book, Nature’s Quiet Wisdom. I held my breath as I examined the front cover, then the back cover and then turned the pages.

Here it was at last. In my hands I held, a printed copy of my book to look at one more time to make sure everything looked right.

It was news too wonderful not to share so I walked into the living room and said, “Look what just came,” to my husband. He took the book, held it in his hands and looked up at me.  We grinned at each other in silence. It was too amazing to put into words.

We both knew it would be printed someday and someday was finally here. Even though we – I - had talked about it every day for the past year, here in my hands was the real deal, THE book.

It was an amazing moment.

Lynn H. Wyvill grew up in Washington DC where her favorite activity was sitting under a Japanese red maple tree, watching clouds create pictures in the sky. As a writer, she finds peace and inspiration when hiking in the woods, strolling on sandy beaches, and observing nature’s show in her backyard. Those experiences are captured in her first book, Nature’s Quiet Wisdom. Before writing books, Lynn worked as a radio/TV reporter and writer for the US Department of Agriculture and owned a consulting business that trained professionals on the creation and delivery of effective presentations. She is a lifelong learner, avid reader, small town explorer, and dedicated theater attendee who lives in beautiful Virginia with her husband.
